The Isis Sculls

Entries are closed for 2025

Run in four divisions across the day, divisions 1, 2 and 4 are a classic head race, run over an 1850m upstream course (the Long Course) on the River Isis in Oxford. Division 3 is raced on a shorter course of roughly 900m upstream of The Gut and is aimed at novices, younger juniors and adaptive rowers.

Racing is offered in all sculling boat categories including: 1x, 2x, 4x, and 4x+ and also pairs (2-); and across all Junior, Senior, and Masters categories as well as mixed crews. Prizes are awarded for the fastest crew in each event across the day, meaning you can race in any Division. Doubling / trebling up is permitted across the Long Course divisions into different events, but you can only race in an event once.

Adaptive entries should contact our Regatta Secretary before entering.

Division 3 (Short Course)

Division 3 will be run on an approximately 900m upstream course above the narrow 'gut' section of the River Isis. This shorter course is aimed towards beginners, younger juniors, and adaptive rowers. Entries are expected to have no (or very low) PRI scores and should typically have <1 year of experience. Entries to the 3rd division may double up into Division 1 only but should email the Entries Secretary in advance to ensure all entries are appropriate. Rowers doubling up between divisions 3 and 2/4 will have their entry rejected.
